I'm a 40 year old mother of four, am married to the man of my dreams and have a growing freelance photography and writing business. My husband and I both work from home, which is great because we can go to work in our pajamas, but it also means that when we answer business calls there is often a child screaming in the background. And then there's the constant war over our home thermostat.

I live in Colorado but was raised in Tennessee. I will always consider myself a Southern girl and stay true to my Southern ways. (This is why I continue to color my hair blonde even though the rest of the world is going brunette and eat only really, really good fried chicken.) Being Southern, I dressed my boys in ruffles and lace until age two, not only because it was the style, but also because I knew it would provide me with much-needed blackmail pictures when my kids hit their late teen years.

Faith in God is a big part of my life. I would say it is at the core of who I am, but I am not one of those angry Bible-thumping Christians. I just love Jesus and try to help people and show compassion.

I enjoy writing about my everyday life, which includes my wonderful kids, my hot husband, dreams about celebrities and, sometimes, boogers in my nose. I don't think people should pretend to be perfect--in fact I find it quite nauseating. Perfection is boring, and life should definitely not be boring.

So far my accomplishments in life are a loving marriage of 19 years, four happy kids and balancing the precise amount of apple juice and cheese a five-year-old can consume in a day and still remain regular.

I'm just an everyday mom.
